Program

From Harshest Shadows to Sweetest Silence: Music of the French Baroque

This program recreates the spirit of 18th-century domestic music-making in Paris, where musicians adapted pieces to suit the instruments and voices at hand. Featuring works by Michel Lambert and Jacques Hotteterre, the performance highlights flexible instrumentation and imaginative arrangements—reflecting how music was shared, reshaped, and enjoyed in the home.

Performers:

  • Danur Kvilhaug, theorbo
  • Ellen Sauer Tanyeri, baroque flute
  • Willow Stracuzzi, viola da gamba
