Nicholas Nutile, DMD (DEN 鈥17), will receive the Outstanding New Dentist Award. While at the CWRU School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Nutile was a natural leader, often encouraging his classmates to develop creative approaches to comprehensive care.
As a student, he regularly presented strategies for restoring patients鈥 esthetics and function through bonded porcelain restorations, precision removable prostheses, dental implant prostheses, and direct composite resin restorations鈥攅specially impressive given the treatment limitations of dental students in a school setting and the financial restrictions of most clinic patients.
Former classmate Samuel Cohen, DMD (DEN 鈥17), who nominated him for this award said, 鈥淒r. Nutile was an excellent student throughout his doctoral and postdoctoral studies in dentistry, leading his classmates and co-residents in didactic and clinical achievements. By sharing his knowledge and experience with his classmates, Dr. Nutile raised the bar among his peers, a quality he carried with him throughout his two-year GPR program at the University of Colorado.鈥
Now, in his private practice, South Market Dental, in Wooster, Ohio, Dr. Nutile provides excellent dental care for his patients. He performs a variety of general and specialty procedures, focusing on conservative and high-quality dentistry. In addition to general and preventative dentistry, he provides simple and complex dental extractions, clear aligner orthodontic treatment, endodontic treatments and dental implant surgery and restoration. Under Dr. Nutile鈥檚 leadership, South Market Dental was named a finalist in the local newspaper鈥檚 鈥淏est of the Best鈥 contest in 2022 and 2024.
Beyond his work in private practice, Dr. Nutile is active in his local and state dental communities and believes continuing education is fundamental for providing patients with top-quality care. He is a regular volunteer at the Viola Startzman Clinic in Wooster. He treats children in local schools and, starting this summer, will provide extractions in an evening clinic for adult patients with limited access to dental care.
In his free time, Dr. Nutile enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two sons while hunting, fishing, gardening and camping.
