Madabhushi, Markowitz and Tesar Honored with "HomeGrown Hero" Awards

This week, Cleveland.com/The Plain Dealer recognized 12 "unsung heroes of our community who are working tirelessly on their start-ups, businesses, innovations and social organizations to fuel the economic development of our region." Three Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (Case CCC) members were among those awarded.

, the F. Alex Nason Professor II of Biomedical Engineering and Director of the Center for Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics at °Ç¸çºÚÁÏ (CWRU) was selected for the award in the Artificial Intelligence Category and and were selected for awards in the Academic Research category. Dr. Markowitz is a hematologist-oncologist at University Hospitals, the Ingalls Professor of Cancer Genetics and professor of medicine at CWRU. He also co-leads the Case CCC's GI SPORE. Dr. Tesar is associate professor of genetics and genome sciences at CWRU.

All recipients were celebrated at the second annual HomeGrown Heroes Award Reception on Wednesday and will be featured in a special section of The Plain Dealer on Sunday, November 17. Please join us in congratulating these accomplished members on their awards!
