The CWRU Vis International Moot Court team recently excelled at their competition in Vienna, reaching the elimination round of 32 (out of 400 competing teams) for the first time in school history. The team was tied as the final remaining American school in the competition.

The �Ǹ���� School of Law again has the highest rated environmental law program in the state of Ohio, according to the just-released 2025 US News & World Report law school rankings.

The new 2025-26 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools listing include the rankings for 13 specialty programs at 196 law schools, with �Ǹ���� School of Law earning top rankings in multiple areas of concentration.

The Law-Medicine Center is delighted to announce that Yaron Covo will be joining �Ǹ���� as an assistant professor on the tenure track. Covo earned an LLB from Tel Aviv University Law School (2014), and LLM and JSD degrees from Columbia Law School (2019 and 2023).

The Law-Medicine Center hosted a two-day conference on February 21-22, 2025, entitled “Starting a Career in Medicine - Threats to Healthy Doctor-Patient Relationships. A National Forum for Medical Students.”

Somewhere between studying, attending classes and networking with employers, second-year law student Jack Anderson makes time to pursue another passion: baseball.

The �Ǹ���� School of Law community mourns the passing of retired law professor Louise McKinney, who died on Tuesday, March 18. 

Third-year law student Charles Pavelec was recently selected as the Sixth Circuit Distinguished Bankruptcy Law Student for 2025. The award was presented on March 20 at a reception in Washington, D.C. 

At its inaugural symposium in Montgomery, Alabama, the Fred D. Gray Institute for Human and Civil Rights appointed Ayesha Bell Hardaway, Director of the university’s Social Justice Institute and Professor of Law, and Bryan L. Adamson, Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion and the David L.

A team of CWRU Law students recently took second place in the Southwest Regional National Patent Application Drafting Competition.

This May, the Coleman P. Burke Center for Environmental Law will be hosting its second annual Junior Environmental Law Scholar Workshop for law school pre-tenured faculty and fellows who are currently pursuing teaching careers in environmental law, energy law, climate law or natural resources law.

Professor Sharona Hoffman was quoted in the New York Times on March 5, 2025, in an article entitled “Florida Seeks Drug Prescription Data With Names of Patients and Doctors.” She commented on an unusual demand by The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, seeking data on millions of 2024 drug prescriptions.
