To enhance our response in the event of an emergency, the CWRU Division of Public Safety formed an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS, commonly known as drone) team consisting of 6 police officers. While incorporating modern equipment capabilities, we strive to lead the way in cutting-edge campus safety measures while also ensuring the privacy of our community.
Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Request Form
This UAS/Drone Flight Approval Request Form must be completed and submitted for review and approval by the CWRU Division of Public Safety prior to any UAS/drone operations on university property or at any university sponsored event. University faculty, staff, students, or other conducting operations on behalf of the university must submit this document not less than two (2) weeks in advance of flight operations. UAS/drone operations on university property by individuals who are not affiliated with the university or who are not conducting university sponsored operations, is prohibited. The Requester will receive a response within five (5) business days of request receipt. Any omission of information requested in this form may result in a delay in processing. All Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) UAS regulations must be strictly adhered to at all times.
